Muswellbrook Shire Council works with local non-profit community groups to secure funding for the benefit of our community.
The Coal and Allied Development Fund
The Community Grants Project
Officer position is funded by the
Coal and Allied Development Fund as
part of approximately $1M it makes available to major community projects in the Hunter region each year.
Each year funds are allocated
to help community groups:
- Further develop your project idea
- Identify relevant funding sources
- Gather support for your project
- Prepare a successful funding application

To be eligible for a Muswellbrook Shire Council Community Grant your organisation must be
- Based in Muswellbrook Shire
- Be not-for-profit
- Have an ABN and be incorporated (or be auspiced by an organisation that has an ABN and incorporation status)
- Eligibility criteria for other grant types vary, please check the links within the Grants available tab for further information.
How to apply for funding
Contact the Grants Officer for advice or assistance for your project or ask for a grant writing kit with guidelines and tips.
